The ResMed ClimateLine™ (part #36995) is a 15mm slim heated CPAP tubing designed for use with the ResMed S9™ Series CPAP machines — specifically the S9 Escape, S9 Elite, and S9 AutoSet — equipped with an H5i™ Heated Humidifier and Climate Control. At 78" from end to end, it is 40% lighter, 20% thinner, and occupies 35% less space than conventional CPAP tubing, while delivering measured, controlled heat and humidification directly to the mask to virtually eliminate rainout. A temperature sensor at the mask end feeds the S9™ Climate Control system continuously, maintaining consistent warmth and humidity regardless of changes in room temperature. Latex-free. A standard CPAP tube has no heating element. When warm, humidified air from the H5i™ travels through an unheated tube on a cool night, it loses heat as it travels and condensation forms inside the tube — a condition called rainout. The result is gurgling sounds, water splashing against the mask mid-sleep, and interrupted therapy. The ClimateLine™ solves this with a built-in copper heating element that maintains the air temperature along the entire tube length. A temperature sensor at the mask end measures the actual delivered air temperature and feeds that data back to the S9™ Climate Control system, which continuously adjusts the H5i™ humidifier output to maintain the temperature you've set — regardless of changes in room temperature or humidity. The ClimateLine™ uses a 15mm internal diameter compared to the 22mm of a standard CPAP tube — 20% thinner overall and 40% lighter. In practical terms this means less tube drag on the mask as you shift position during sleep, and more flexibility when routing the tube across a pillow or over a shoulder. The slimmer profile also takes up 35% less space in a bedside table, travel bag, or suitcase. The ClimateLine™ only functions as designed when three components are present and working together: a compatible S9™ CPAP machine with Climate Control enabled, the H5i™ Heated Humidifier, and the ClimateLine™ tubing itself. All three are necessary. Without the H5i™ humidifier, the tubing has no humidity source to warm and control. Without Climate Control enabled on the machine, the temperature sensor feedback loop doesn't function and the tube heating cannot be automatically managed. ResMed produced two ClimateLine diameters for the S9 Series. The standard ClimateLine™ (this product, 15mm, part #36995) is for CPAP machines — the S9 Escape, S9 Elite, and S9 AutoSet. The ClimateLine™ MAX (19mm) is designed for S9 VPAP and BiLevel machines, which operate at higher pressures that require a wider tube diameter to maintain adequate airflow. If you use an S9 CPAP machine, this is the right tubing. If you use an S9 VPAP Auto, VPAP S, VPAP ST, or VPAP Adapt SV, you need the ClimateLine™ MAX instead. Heated tubing draws significant additional power — it can reduce CPAP battery runtime by 70–80% compared to running the machine without heated tubing and humidification. If you rely on a battery for camping, power outages, or travel, turning off the ClimateLine and the H5i humidifier before switching to battery power will dramatically extend how long the battery lasts. Standard unheated tubing should be used for battery-powered operation when runtime is critical.
Daily: disconnect the tubing from the machine and mask and hang to air dry in a clean area away from direct sunlight. Weekly: wash with warm water and a mild detergent. The ClimateLine can be submerged in water for cleaning — rinse thoroughly after washing, then hang to air dry completely before reconnecting. The tube must be completely dry before use. Do not use harsh cleaning agents, bleach, or dry in direct sunlight or with heat.
Replacement every 6 months is recommended. The internal heating element and temperature sensor degrade gradually with use, which can reduce the accuracy of Climate Control and the effectiveness of rainout prevention over time. Tubing that has been in use for more than 6 months may also be difficult to keep fully clean.
