The Pride VivaLift!® Radiance PLR-3955 is a true-infinite position power lift recliner with three heating pads — shoulders, lumbar, and seat — that Pride bills as the first lift chair in its class to offer all three. Available in four sizes (Petite Wide, Small, Medium, and Large/Tall), all carrying a 400 lb. weight capacity, with Total Comfort seating construction throughout the range. Standard features include power headrest, power lumbar, footrest extension, a hideaway wireless phone charger and cup holder in the armrests, a lithium battery backup, and an ergonomically designed toggle remote with two programmable memory positions and a USB charging port. Fabrics include the standard Canyon and optional Ocean, Silt, Steel, and Walnut. The Radiance is the heat-focused chair in the VivaLift!® lineup — it's the one to choose when warmth and muscle relief are the priority alongside quality infinite-position reclining.

Heat in a lift chair is common — a single heating pad in the seat or lumbar is found across many models. The Radiance does something different: three separate heating pads in the shoulders, the lumbar, and the seat, each independently adjustable. For users who carry muscle tension across multiple areas — a tight upper back from poor posture, lumbar stiffness from arthritis, or general cold sensitivity that makes a standard chair uncomfortable in winter — this level of targeted, adjustable heat across the whole sitting surface is a meaningful step up from a single pad. Combined with true-infinite positioning and Total Comfort seating across all four sizes, the Radiance is a genuinely comfortable full-featured chair.
The Radiance's headline feature is its three-zone heating system. Most heated lift chairs include one heating pad — typically in the seat or lumbar. The Radiance includes separately controlled pads in the shoulders, the lumbar, and the seat. In practice this means you can run heat just in the lower back during a flare, just in the shoulders after a difficult day, in all three simultaneously for full-body warming, or in any combination. The hand control manages heat level and on/off for all zones. For users with conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic back pain, or poor circulation, the ability to target warmth where it's needed — rather than heat the whole seat whether you need it or not — is the detail that makes the Radiance the right choice over a non-heated or single-pad chair. About the heating system →
All four Radiance sizes include true-infinite positioning, meaning the backrest and footrest operate completely independently. You can set the footrest at any height without changing the backrest angle, hold the back upright while elevating the legs, lay fully flat with the footrest extended and back reclined, or achieve a zero-gravity position where the legs are elevated above the heart. Six independently controlled functions — power headrest, upward lift, power lumbar, footrest extension, backrest, and true-infinite recline — give you precise control over every contact point between the chair and your body. The new ergonomic toggle remote includes two programmable memory buttons, so you can save your preferred positions and return to them instantly. About the positioning system →
"The Radiance is the one we recommend when heat is the priority. A lot of our customers live with arthritis, fibromyalgia, or chronic back issues and they're not just looking for a chair that reclines — they need warmth to actually feel comfortable in it. Three separate heating zones that you control independently is something no other chair in this price range does. Add the true-infinite positioning and the four size options and it covers a lot of ground."

The Radiance covers the widest height range of any chair in its class with four distinct size configurations. The Small and Petite Wide both fit users 5'4" and under — they share a height range but differ in seat width (20" for Small vs. 24" for Petite Wide) and seat depth (18" for Small vs. 18" for Petite Wide). The Petite Wide is the right choice for a shorter user who needs more room across the seat. The Medium fits users 5'5" to 6'1" with a 22.5" seat width and 21" seat depth. The Large/Tall is designed for users 6'2" and above — with a 31" back height, 22" seat depth, and 21.5" seat-to-floor height, it's the only size in the VivaLift!® lineup specifically built for taller users. All four sizes carry a 400 lb. weight capacity. Full sizing guide →
The Radiance includes a hideaway wireless phone charger and a cup holder built into the armrests — both slide out of the arm when needed and tuck away when not in use. The redesigned ergonomic toggle remote handles lift, recline, heat on/off, and heat level adjustment from a single control. The two programmable memory position buttons let you store your favourite chair positions — press once and the chair moves there automatically. A USB charging port on the remote keeps the remote itself charged or can charge a small device. Lithium battery backup is standard across all four sizes, ensuring you can operate the chair through a power outage.
The standard fabric is Canyon — a warm neutral that works across most home décors. Optional fabrics include Ocean (a soft blue), Silt (a warm grey-taupe), Steel (a cool medium grey), and Walnut (a rich warm brown). Common questions from customers at Broadway Home Medical considering the Radiance.
The Radiance has three separate heating pads — one in the shoulders, one in the lumbar, and one in the seat. Each can be turned on or off and adjusted independently through the hand control. You can run heat in one zone, two, or all three simultaneously at different intensity levels. This is different from single-pad heated chairs where the heat is fixed to one area and applies whether or not that's where you need it.
The Small and Petite Wide both fit users 5'4" and under — the key difference is seat width (20" Small vs. 24" Petite Wide). If you're a shorter user who needs more room across the seat, the Petite Wide is the right choice. The Medium covers 5'5" to 6'1" with a 22.5" seat. The Large/Tall is the only size designed for users 6'2" and above — it has a significantly taller back (31" top-of-back to seat) and a higher seat-to-floor height (21.5") appropriate for longer legs. The seat-to-floor height is always the most important fit measurement — your feet should rest flat on the floor with knees at roughly 90 degrees when seated. Come into Broadway Home Medical to sit in the appropriate size before ordering.
The Petite Wide is designed for users who are 5'4" or shorter but need a wider seat than the Small offers. The Small has a 20" seat width; the Petite Wide has a 24" seat width — 4" wider — while keeping the same short seat-to-floor height appropriate for shorter users. It's the right choice for someone who finds standard small or petite lift chairs too narrow across the hips and thighs but would be uncomfortable in a taller Medium.
True-infinite positioning means the backrest and footrest operate completely independently. You can elevate just the footrest without re

Choosing the right chair size and features is critical to ensuring you receive a chair that is going to meet your needs.
There are instances when a family will purchase a lift chair and they will share or change the occupancy. Unless all occupants are similar in size or body type, the chair may not perform the same as it would for the intended occupant.
The lumbar support and heat feels great on my lower back. The wireless charger is a nice touch too! Best price point I could find for a chair that fit my size (6'4") and had the features I was looking for.
