The Large Ultra is for taller users who want the full VivaLift!® feature stack without the compromise of sitting in a chair that's too short. At 21.5" seat-to-floor, the Large puts users 6' and taller in the correct seated position — feet flat, knees at 90 degrees, full thigh support across the 22" seat depth, and back support up to a 30" back height from seat to top. For taller users the wall clearance requirement is an important planning consideration: the Large needs 21.5" behind it to fully recline, compared to 15" for the Small and Medium. This should be measured carefully before ordering.
VivaLift!® Tilt elevates the knees above the heart by changing the entire chair's pivot geometry, not just reclining the back. For taller users the Tilt position matters more, not less — longer legs carry more circulatory load at rest, and the decompression of the lumbar spine in the true zero-gravity position is proportionally more beneficial for a larger frame. The Large's 22" seat depth and 30" back height ensure that the fully tilted position supports the entire body length, which a medium-size chair in the same position cannot do adequately for someone 6' or taller. The Large Ultra requires 21.5" of clearance between the back of the chair and the wall to fully recline — substantially more than the 15" required by the Small and Medium. Heat and massage controls on the Large are in the same location as the other sizes — on the inside of the left armrest — so adjustment is always within reach regardless of recline position. The three heating pads (shoulders, lumbar, seat) and air bladder massage (three intensity settings) are identical across all three sizes. A dedicated Tilt button activates it directly from the remote. The one programmable memory button can store your preferred Tilt angle for instant one-press recall.
The Large needs 21.5" of clearance behind the chair to reach its full recline range — significantly more than the 15" required by the Small and Medium. This is a function of the longer seat depth and back height needed to accommodate taller users: when the chair tilts and the footrest extends, the mechanical travel is greater. Measure the available space behind the intended chair location carefully before ordering. This is the most common planning oversight with the Large size.
